Who are we?
Yes that’s correct Bacon Weekends, these have become somewhat of an activities over the past three years, growing from a fondness of bacon and a love of fixing cars. Some of the more “ACTIVE” club members decided that helping each other out was the best way forward in terms of getting a car back on the road.
People have endured hundreds of miles of motorway’s just to get their fix of Vivas and most important beer , bacon and good company. Here are a few of the weekend trips the club has done over the last few years:
The Reading Rust Festival (May 19th 2007)
Jim will fix it Nuneaton (Nov 24th 2007)
Weldathon a Magnum (Apr 26th 2008)
Reading Festival of Rust the return tour (May 17th 2008)
Fungus Part one (Feb 21st 2009)
Southport Gearbox Challange (Mar 21st 2009)
New heart in Leeds (Apr 4th 2009)
Fungus the champignon (Due May 16th 2009)
These people have gone out of their way to help, they ask only a bacon sandwich and in the evening a good curry and the normal beer rations. Much time is spent talking about rubbish, fiddling with parts and occasionally making the owner of the car feel like they have won the lottery. This is what owning a Viva is about, getting out and getting dirty, helping people and giving back to the Viva family. So come on get up get out and start fixing them cars up so you can feel good, attend a show or two and ultimatly give back to the Viva family. The philosophy behind these weekends is called “Pay It Forward”
Just for the record several other Pay It Forward events are in the planning, so watch this space as the season draws on.
