coil?

Hi guys

i know this may sound very stupid, but i took off my coil and have (forgoten) which wire goes where? i just want to know whether the positive goes to the Distributor ? ( im only 18 and have never messed about with electrics on a car before.

any help would be great

Negative side of the coil goes to the distributor. Checked it in the Haynes book for the OHC engine cars, but I can't think why it would be different on OHV.

hello its definatley negative to the distributor and positive to ignition feed
