temp gauge in hb viva

my viva as not got temp gauge,bought another dash off ebay,with temp gauge,want to keep my original gauge,how do take out gauge tranplant in my dash instrement,why werent fitted with one,must vauxhall thing my atrsra disel as not got one, :angrywife:

Straight swap, remove the instruments from the car, and bolt in the gauge, the wires will be there, you will need to fit a sender unit to the cylinder head, again wires should be there, and where the sender fits on the head should be there possibly blanked off. Senders are available on ebay or from the club spares. In 1970, temp gauges were an option on the deluxe cars, nowadays, its cost cutting!!

Sender unit must be a 7954996 and no other. This sender is calibrated for the Viva HB guage. (last 4 digits 4996 is stamped on the unit) Adrian
