Tail / break light problem.

Postby Bigblock » Thu Mar 02, 2017 6:43 pm

Hi all.
Just bought a sweet little 76 HC Viva Coupe.
Having trouble with the tail / break lights.
Both tail lights go OK but when ya stand on the break pedal, the right ( driver side) tail light goes out, and only the left break light lights up??
Any help'll be much appreciated.
Cheers from New Zealand.

Most likely a bad earth, start by checking the earths, and if you have replaced any bulbs recently check you have fitted the correct bulbs as this will also give similar problems. :)

Yep, earthing problem is the most likely cause and it is a very common problem with HC tail lights. I've soldered additional earth wires to my bulb holders to improve reliability.
