Later cars have twin stalks, the left hand half for wipers/washers.
Has anybody looked at using the later Chevette wiper switch unit as it looks like it would fit the main mounting plate just fine but wire colour code/connection could be a puzzle-anybody tried it???

It swings through a wider arc than the Viva one and fouls on the steering column shroud. Lucas ones from a Mini/Marina/Allegro were fitted to the very late Vivas.

Those twin stalks are used on quite a lot of cars - a mate with a Reliant Scimitar GTC was looking for some for his, and they look identical from outside. Also the wedge-shaped Aston Martin Lagonda uses them. I don't know if Chevette is the same, I've asked on the DSG forum, someone might have knowledge of both.

Interesting contrast, someone on the DSG forum has just said they used a Chevette stalk on a Firenza some time ago.

I don't think you can take the wiper section of the twin stalk and fit it to an earlier indicator switch, I don't think the front plate has the mountings.

some Bedford CF/Chevette/FE Victor all used very similar and can be used if you can find them, sometimes the wires were in different positions on the multi plugs and I think some of the Chevettes had rear wipers on the Hatchbacks?
