Connector for the dashboard

Postby mazzo » Tue Jan 01, 2008 7:09 pm

Does anyone know the type of connector plug that is used on the back of the speedo? I need to get hold of one of the smaller ones (12 connections) but don't know what they are called to see if they are standard or just a Vauxhall special.

Never seen one like it anywhere else mate - and i work for an auto-electrical shop.... Reckon they are special to Vauxhall. Can you cut one off a scrapper? Failing that will be a case of changing the plug on the loom for a modern type, than soldering on fly leads to the cluster to take the other half of the plug.
Why do you need one mate? Cant imagine how they would get damaged.
Matt.

Hi Matt

Just want to change my dash to 7 dials. I have the dash but not the connector.

So...... I will try to cut the larger normal dash plug to size (by chopping a chunk out of the middle) and then araldite it together again. I have one here to copy to get the wiring right, but it isn't mine so I won't be able to use it on my car. By the way this is not for the 1600!
