No spark

Postby steff » Sat Dec 13, 2008 10:45 pm

Not had the engine running for a while as had to take the tank out for welding on the boot floor. tried to start the car today not getting the ignition light and no spark from the plug lead or the HT lead.

What would be my next steps?

Cheers

No ignition light, and no HT spark would suggest no 12V feed to the ignition circuit. Could be your fuses have corroded and stopped conducting properly. Give the fues box a good check over, pop each fuse out and make sure its all clean and healthy.
Try that 1st

good luck

Cheers Tony

Checked the fuses they were OK. But a voltmeter on the coil and it was getting 12v OK checked the HT and the pints and cleaned them off and it sprang back into life

Lokks like a bit of dirt or damp, anyway off to be welded on Wednesday
