Door tread plates

Postby MattyE » Thu Nov 21, 2019 5:21 pm

Hi all! while restoring my 4 door magnum I've switched out the tan interior for black

dying the door cards and dash was pretty straightforward however the four plastic tread plates that sit in the door shuts don't like taking the vinyl dye and I fear they wont stay black for long once the car is in use...

probably a long shot, but does anyone have a set of black ones hanging about?

You could paint them with a water based satin black paint like Dulux Weathershield. It's very good on plastic gutters and stays on even in a quite high wear area.

Failing that you could try carefully wrapping them with satin black vinyl.
