Hi Jon,

Just goes to show what you can find/alter to suit your needs from the local scrappie.
After all, we dont want to overly modernise our old vauxhalls, half the fun is the originality of some of the 60's and 70's stuff.....the youngsters of today may very well be astounded by the fact we have to manually lift our bonnets and balance them on some rickety old stays instead of pressing a button and having them automatically lift into place

Hi Phil, theres only one reason i like the idea of struts.... theres no poxy prop in the way when your trying to work on the damm thing

only 2 of my cars have had struts, my jag (now that is a big bonnet!!) and the vectra! iam not going to invest to much time or money into it, if i can get it to work, i will, if not i'll move the prop

Yes, You are right there, the thing always gets in the way when working under the bonnet...another annoying thing is how you always bang your head on the bonnet release catch!!! Arghhh

Well, the bonnet has arrived at last.
Nice and light and appears to be well made, not that I'm an expert.
The hinge areas have steel bracing built into the fibreglass for extra support so will be able to use the original hinges.
Havent tried a trial fit yet.
