A colour has been chosen! But....

Postby Spence » Wed Dec 02, 2009 7:37 am

At long last ive finally settled on a colour for the firenza! (really chuffed with myself) only one major snag...

because its a U.S fleet colour, the binders used to blend the paint do not conform to E.U policy

the colour is pepper gray metalic (Dupont fleet 44490) yes as in that lovely gray that eleanor wears (gt500 shelby from gone in 60 seconds)

Does anyone know a conforming alternative or a way around this?
(iam most definatly NOT having the black stripe tho)

any help or suggestions greatfully received 8)

Hi Spence,

Any colour is possible, regardless of manufacturer.....ive been a painter for the last 12 years and have mixed many one off colours that are spot on to what people have wanted.
At our bodyshop we use Sikkens paint system which is a worldwide product used by many bodyshops. Their colour library is very extensive and im sure they'll have the shelby colour.
Leave it with me and i'll see what i can find out on monday for you.......and have you got someone lined up to paint it for you? ;-)

Cheers

Paul

S**T Spence, Why you copying my planned paint scheme for!!

Just joking, but that was the colour I had planned for my cars respray this winter. looks like its back to the colour charts for a rethink.

I was hoping to be the only one with a Snoot (replica) with Eleanor colours. Most paint shops car mix any colour so you should be good.

I'll look forward to seeing photos of the finished item.
