HC UNDERIDERS

Postby vauxhallbitz » Thu Dec 01, 2011 10:18 pm

I have just purchased a set of underiders for my Viva but have no fitting instruction. I imagine that they line up with the exisiting square holes in the bumper but am not sure, has anyone fitted a set and if so can they please advise?

Also which are the front and which the rear, one had a threaded stud and the other a hole for a small bolt, as far as I can see they can fit either way????

Just noticed the pair with the studs are marked left and right don't know if that helps identify them, I presume the unmarked pair are not handed????

The ones without the lip for the bolt at the bottom are the front pair, and if they are the same as the pair I have, they are handed. If you look, you will see that the recess for the bumber is slightly deeper on one side than the other, this is because the front bumber is slightly angled towards the centre.

The deeper recess goes towards the centre of the bumper on both sides, so that the overiders sit square facing foward.

Positioning is entirely up to you, I found to fit them over the existing bumper fixing bolts placed them too far out, so pulled them towards centre about 8 inches. This lines them up with the sides of the air intake on the front valance and I think evens the car up. It also make the overiders level with the centre point on the bumper.
