I'm having to carefully measure and photograph my MK II's stripes prior to bodywork restoration to enable replication on the new paint finish. I think the MK II's thicker stripes are going to require a specialist if anyone can suggest one?
Not that the stripes are on my car yet, but i have no intention of sticking things on... I am electing to get a signwritter in to do the work Oldschool to the max
Sign-writer sounds about right! My girlfriend's grandad is a retired sign-writer, so he'll be doing my coach lines when I get to that stage, not that he knows it yet
Frosts restoration supplies do a thin pinstrip masking tape thats 100% ideal for the Mk1. Once taped onto the body, the paint is applied by pen brush. (thats the factory finish) If it is the Red colour wanted on a White car, I used Signal red enamel from my local hardware shop which was perfect. The Le -mans blue cars had a Elkhart yellow stripe (like lime green) Adrian
