Hurrah i'm well happy the tool works really well, the top one moved quite easily without much effort on the spanner, however the lower one was very tight, so i just went for it if the tool broke it would be onto mk3 but sure enough up she came, brill.
What i wanted to do was make something that would pull out the pins as is, ie no heat or bashing and doing minimal damage, the first 8mm or so is tight but it then gets easy, the tool is really just to pull it the first 20mm or so which it does, after that its easy to tap out with a piece of bar with a slot in the end to fit over the pin head.

I would be interested to know if the HC has the same idea and whether this will work for both HC and HB,

Well done :-) Yes the HC has the same hinge design.

Rizzo, Your home made pin puller tool looks just the thing.

Unfortunately, my pin pusher tool bought from the US is, as suspected, no good due to the lack of clearance above the top hinge and below the bottom one.

I've sent you a PM.
