Original Rocker Cover Colour

Postby mattbs1977 » Mon Jan 01, 2018 10:32 pm

Hi all,

I'm working on my '71 HC, the rocker cover (and engine bay!) are not pretty! The cover has obviously been painted black at some point but it has badly peeled/flaked. I'm planning on stripping it down and re-painting it. Does anyone know the original colour or look of the cover? The engine is painted blue!

The car itself is in Aqua Starmist with onyx.

Cheers, Matt

It would have been a low gloss black, a bit more shiney than satin buy not really gloss. Sprayed with black engine paint when all was assembled i would suspect. If it was an SL90 engine then it could have been red.
