Marvin gets a new smile

Postby pbottomley » Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:40 pm

I went up to the paint shop for my weekly disappointment but this week things have changed! Marvin has a new front end all welded on and looking good. *Bleep* pictures I know but you can see the superb job on the front panel and the engine bay paint.

Now the engine bay has been painted and the colour match is very good, but not 100% its slightly darker, but then who am I kidding, the car is not a concourse car its going to be a nice shiny rust free example. So the shade is 100% perfect for me.

The holes for the mirror, trim and badges are all drilled, things are getting there, even if we are a few months behind plan. :D

well how things change, its been a while since I had good news on the car, but here is some! Its in Undercoat, don't get to thinking that its a grey rat looking car, it will need flatting down before the top coat but I am getting there. The colour is going to be a little darker the original Storm Grey, but as time goes by the sun will lighten that up.

Good news Marvin I home, I need to reassemble the car and then its back to the paint-shop for flatting down, decided to re assemble the car as I am liable to scratch it   , if I do then we can touch it up before we flat it down.

I have the use of a workshop for one week, so I have to get as much done before it sits on the drive in the wet and dark, which is going to be hard as the drive is full of RAY at the minute

Real nice job there , are those bonnet pin holes in the bonnet - or just shadows on the paint ?
Cheers - jon
