Postby BobbyMel » Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:09 pm

What is the going rate to get a pair of calipers professionally rebuilt, I've just had a quote, which I think is very expensive....just trying to see if it is expensive..

A brand new OHV caliper - no exchange is about £65, £130 a pair if that is any help.

I will say they are pretty easy to rebuild yourself as well.

I had prices from Bigg Red in 2016 to refurbish a pair of Magnum OHC calipers:

Standard finish (3-4 working days) – The standard is our basic finish designed to get the calipers working, we put a standard paint on available in silver or gold.
Front: £79 (Inc VaT) + return P&P

Electroplate Finish (12-14 working days) – The Electroplate is the OE standard finished and contains some anti-corrosive properties, available in gold of silver.
Front: £89 (Inc VaT) + return P&P

Premium Finish (7-10 working days) – The premium finish has an anticorrosive undercoat with a stove enamel oven cured top finish available from 12 Choices of colour (please enquire about what colours you would like).
Front: £129 (Inc VaT) + return P&P

Return P&P was £9.90 at the time, and the price is for a pair of calipers.

Big Red were absolutely brilliant came back brand new,it was about £100) approx. for the pair.Best Thing I did as the after market metal piston seals would not sit in the recess and were soft and made of cheese.

Saved me a lot of heartache and my fingers!
