Try Burlen Fuel, they do repair kits and overhauls so I assume they do spares

Hello All,

I have found a Carb which is 301Z 1970 to 1971 but its for 1059cc version, just wondered if this would be ok?

I spoke to the owner he advised the jets might need to be changed for 1256cc.
what do you think maybe i could transfer the jets?

thanks

Burlen Fuel systems have a number of spares listed for the 1256 Viva including spindles.

The carb for 1057cc Viva HA will be a Solex - it will be different to the Zenith 301Z - if its the spindle shaft broke I might have one..

If the one you have found is a Zenith then swap the main jet for the one in your original carb - there is a bolt in the bottom /side of the float chamber which you have to take out and access the jet at the other side of the chamber.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your advice, I bought a rebuild kit from Burlem and have cleaned and rebuilt the carb. POINT to note when they send the rebuild kit for 301Z not the Butterfly screws for the fuel shaft are incorrect in the packet and too small. I have mentioned this to them and they understand the mistake and resent me correct ones. The car is now running - although uneven. starved of fuel I think. Trying to find a new petrol pump.

Cheers
