Changing the vacuum advance unit

Postby reb78 » Fri Jun 28, 2019 1:52 pm

I have got a new (well, secondhand but working) vacuum advance unit for the 1800 on the Magnum - is it obvious how to change it over or more involved than it might seem??

As far as I recall, the pipe from the unit hooks in underneath the base plate of the distributor - I'm not sure if you can change it without stripping the whole thing down. You might be able to loosen the base plate and lift it, swap the unit then screw it back down again.
