4 branch manifold modification

Hello

i have a NOS vauxhall victor 4 branch manifold and i was thinking of modifying it to fit my Viva GT.
Has anybody ever done this before? what would be the best way to go about it? any tips?

I was thinking of making a jig to mount the flanges to, so they can't move out of line but it's the length of the pipes ect i'm lost with where to start.

pictures of the manifold

any help is much appreciated

Thanks

I haven't, but it's good to see a photo of that manifold. I've got a couple of those, and have never been quite sure what they're off.

that's no problem. as far as i'm aware they will fit Victor / beford CF, but it's too tight to fit the viva hb hc / firenza magnum.

Unless someone pops up with a viva one to swap for this nos exhaust, i'll be attempting to modify it in the next 3 months

It will be difficult to do. The bends are not sharp enough to allow it to be cut in closer, especially the front one and the down pipes are the wrong shape, they are too straight. Good luck!

bloody hell thats a massive difference! i'm in two thoughts now, whether to attempt it..
I'm guessing finding a 2nd hand viva one would be near impossible to come across? or at a price that would make my bowels release

Hi David,
What diameter are your primaries on that manifold ? I've got a Janspeed type manifold fitted at the moment, but I'm thinking of fabricating a manifold in stainless tubing to the same design as you have.
Regards, Dave.

Haha, unfortunately not
My intention is to experiment with tuned lengths and get it above the gearbox crossmember on my 2litre Firenza, so it won't be a 5 min job.

I'll have to check but they are bigger than a standard HPF manifold. The HPF was developed from the DTV / Blydenstien fast road manifold but with smaller pipes and 45 mm final outlet. Mine is a direct copy of the DTV manifold in stainless with s 50mm final outlet.
