Hi, what are the bolt sizes that fix pedal box to bulkhead, there's 2 that go downwards, what size are these, and are the nuts the same thread that fit onto the bolts that come forward through the bulkhead. I'm guessing 5/16 unf, but want clarity before ordering stainless steel ones.

Thanks

Now, this is where a basic set of taps and dies would come in handy - useful for cleaning threads, and for confirming bolt sizes.

I don't have any HB stuff or parts manuals, so I can't confirm unfortunately. Are you sure stainless is appropriate here? I know there are differences in the way that stainless fasteners work (they don't stretch in the same way that mild steel does, so you might find a need to keep tightening them up) but I'm not sure of the details.

5/16 X 24 - and yes, welded nut and bolt are the same size

Ive used stainless in the past on a hotrod i built, everything was stainless even stressed parts ie suspension, at the time i didnt consider the strength and cared less to be honest, luckily i had no issues.
i,m using stainless again on my HB but only on things that don't require high tensile bolts etc so brake pedal box is high tensile 8.8 as is suspension components.
Ive not experienced bolts or nuts not fully tightening, however if using stainless make sure you use grease to lube the threads as if used with different metals it can cause a corrosive condition.
