Can anyone identify this block

Postby Cavansbh » Mon Sep 14, 2020 11:35 pm

Hi I was sold a engine block and was told it was compatible but just tried putting the head on and didn’t line up so was wondering what model it was to get a new head or to sell

My guess is Opel Kadett. not only because of the stamp on the block which is pretty obvious but, if you search the Opel website, there are references to Dutch built Kadetts and engine numbers which start with a 12!

Pure guesswork of course, but you can make further enquiries if you have the donor vehicle details v.i.n. etc!

A photo of the other side may also give clues.
