hi having owned mainly heralds vitesse stags over the last 20 years , need a bit of advice best place to support axle stands front of the car rear is obvious . i need to work on the suspension paul

If you're working on the wishbones, I tend to put a couple of axle stands under the subframe. If you're intending to remove the subframe, I put them near the gearbox cross-member, with a suitable piece of wood so that they don't damage the outer edge of the chassis rail where it forms a flange that protrudes downwards.
