carb question

Postby AccieMad » Sat Mar 03, 2007 2:32 pm

I've just bolted in a new zenith 301z onto my HB. Finally it is not running rich...However on my old carb there is an accelerator pump on the right hand side of the carb as you look from the front of the engine. On the new one there are the holes for the pump (untapped) and other blanked holes for the jet etc.

Does anybody know why the modification was made and what difference it has on the carb?

Thanks.

sounds to me that you have a 301z carb from a ha van it should run ok on this as my old hb had one on it if i remember correctly the pump on the side is some sort of economy valve which the van didnt have so it could climb up hills fully loaded.

hope this has helped

Thanks, that makes sense. A bit more power won't go amiss anyway. There again it's drums all round...
