2300 16v engines

Postby marcevo1 » Thu Apr 19, 2007 7:47 pm

Firstly - Hello!

and apologies - i dont have a viva.... i have a chevette rally car - but you guys seem very clued up and useful :-)

new to the forum - basically looking for information on how to convert a 8v 2300 to a 16v unit for historic rallying.

anything appreciated - or is it just as easy to wait for a chevette hs engine to turn up?

out of interest what sort of reliable (usable) power can an 8v produce? - may stick with this until funds allow.

basically i was going to go 20xe engine but the 8v is easier and hopefuly can be easily changed for historic stuff later

many thanks

marc

I have heard the DOHC slants were a relability nightmares.

A SOHC is 110 stock, tunable to much higher depending on what you spend. You can get 12-140 with mortaging the house though.
