I might be wrong, but the white HB Police car, wasnt that on ebay not to long ago, think it was in Devon? Or is it just my vivid imagination? :?

They've obviously got a very small pool of cars - that orange Allegro is in the background in almost every outdoor scene.

Orangy coloured Allegros (and Marinas) *were* in every "background scene" in *real* life back then ;-) ..as were red 1.6 mk3 Cortinas but there's a distinct lack of those in the program.

Actually, in the first episode there were *loads* of period classics in the shots, but noticably less in episode 2 so they must've blown most of the car extras budget on the first one I reckon.
Very cleverly done though, even though the 70's lifestyle cliches are somewhat overplayed, but I guess that was necessary to add a touch of humour.

It's true, you don't see many white dog turds nowadays though :-)
