And I forgot the other fail point: front brake pipe not sufficiently secured to cross member. It was a new copper pipe, bolted to the crossmember using the standard fixings in the correct places, and he wouldn't pass it until I put a couple of zip fasteners to hold it better. Quite where he thought it was going to go is not apparent - bolted to the master cylinder, bolted in two places to the cross member, bolted to the end of the flexi pipe. If all those come undone, I've got bigger problems than a badly secured brake pipe.
