There's been a discussion about JFC450N, the twin-cam HPF, on the DSG forum just recently. It was stripped out for racing at one point, but no knowledge of whether the car still exists.

More picture from Vauxhall Motorist magazines, is this HB GT known to the club?

Image

This was the economy car built by Vauxhall Motorist magazine in 1975, and code named Project '75, it did get finished, I have pictures and will put them up when I find them. It was a standard two door shell fitted with a modified droop snoot front

We keep a register of nearly all the vivas made, but not two specific ranges GT's and Snoots.... these are really the realms of other Viva related clubs and without treading on their turf we don't keep a GT register of any sorts.... BUT I can ask the GT register owners for information.

I did a quick lookup of the DVLA and it suggests its not been on the road since 1991, so one does have to wonder if it still exists today?

When I find out more I shall let you know... looks nice ! :D

I recall reading about the 'proejct 75' car being retrieved from a back garden some years ago, I'll try to find the article.

Right got some feedback on the GT, from the Outlaws :)

Many year ago I met a guy at Billing, who gave me that reg and said it belonged to a women in London area. and she was going to join the club, this was the late 1980's.

The good bit is that its a MKI.5 and one digit away from Dave Wheatley's Elkhart yellow GT.

I never did got a photo off the owner but I got the idea it was probably a bit scabby even then.

So its known, but most likely baked bean tins, but one never knows what sits in garages waiting to be found.

Interesting little paragraph,

Lightweight, streamlined, high geared cars is how Frank Costain sees the future. He belives that higher and higher fuel costs will force the issue.

He wasnt far wrong was he!

The SMT Firenza, SFS1N, as far as I know, has been in Northern Ireland for many years, currently spread around in lots of boxes. The shell was restored a few years ago but not rebuilt as yet.
