All in Practical Classics September 2000.

Tail end of 2 HAs on the right:

Brussels 1964, and it's fun for all the family as they play a giant Spin and Win with a Vauxhall Viva HA. First prize: a gallon of rustproofing fluid perhaps? That would also come in handy for the beautiful but fragile Alfas on the next stand.

Couple of HAs for sale:

Also a small pic of a coupe mid-restoration in Sep 2000

And in November 1997 PC there is this photo:

HB on the left, reg plate ending 61F.

J-reg Coupe on the right hand side, reg plate looks to be JJO 825J, hard to tell though.

I have inherited a lot of old magazines, and will post anything else I find.

I have twice been told that Harwich was used as a holding centre for Vauxhalls intended for export.
After parking up in Asda a chap did a double take on my old Viva, a not unusual occurence, saying just that, often the cars were often destined for New Zealand.
In fact there was a PA Velox advertised for sale in the locality and after dropping my best mate's Cresta PA for a paint job we located the venue nearby but the place was not open and we could see a couple of Yank pickups through the locked gates.
The cars vended being diverse, as also a Citreon Traction Avante and a Ford Torino Ranchero were listed.
The Velox imported from New Zealand had been converted to auto and telling a mate later he wasnt too keen on a non original car.
My best friends wife is from New Zealand and reckons Vauxhalls were hugely popular back in the day..Many of her snaps have Vauxhalls in them.
There was also a Mark 2 Zodiac with Mays head and triple carbs, both advertised in Classic American first, then Fleabay, however the chap told about the Velox recently sold his Mk3 Zodiac Executive, as it wasnt what he wanted, again the Mark 2 Zodi wasnt original with the conversion( as used by Ruddspeed in the AC Ace) and often on Fords Rally cars.
Going back to the storage in Harwich some while ago a chap passing on foot said he may have worked my car as he was a Luton Employee on the assembly line, and had moved to Dovercourt to work on the distribution field.

Fair bit of Viva coverage in "Classic Car Weekly" current issue, in their shots of people on Drive-it Day. Noticed one HPF, a HC and if I recall correctly a HA Van, with possibly more that I didn't have time to notice.

Practical Classics Feb 1997

Ha (SL?) - LLY 489D, Bridport, Dorset, circa 1967.

Same issue, yard near Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

HB SL90 - OUX 567G. Also reportedly a Firenza there somewhere.

Practical Classics Feb 1994. Not a Viva but a Chevette Targa which I thought was interesting.
