I remember clearly the day the Viva HB was anounced as there were 2 outside the Vauxhall dealership I passed on route home from school, an SL and Deluxe.
Back home from there with as many brochures as possible I awaited the arrival home of my Dad who still worked in London during the week, after we moved to Norfolk.
He had bought the Viva HA as his Jag was too unweldy for Mum,
I seem to recall the HA being vrtually reliable on jaunts to Scotland and Cornwall. However my Father said oh we'll wait till they get all the bugs oout first so eventually a Pinewood Green Deluxe 90 was delivered in June and then they changed from E to F reg 2 months later/it had been January to January, however despite it being my Mum's favourite car it seemed to go wrong quite a lot
After my Dad went feeelance he chopped it in for the first of 2 consequetive Fiat 2300s; I think in 1968, second hand as he had owned mainly six pot Fords and a couple of big Farina Wolseleys(plus the Jag) and liked six cylinder cars, but my parents did buy a very smart red Viva HC SL second-hand in the 70s.
