Car transportation

Postby Kraken » Wed Nov 07, 2018 11:34 pm

Hello folks.

I was wondering if anybody might be able to help with transportation in the next week or so?
I potentially have a car that needs to be moved from Stoke-on-Trent to Aberdeenshire.
At the moment I have a quote on shiply for £380 but was wondering if anybody here had any contacts that may be making a run one way and could do with work going the other way?

Thanks,
- Callum

At £380 for a 400 +miles is a very good price so unless you can find a member/friend ……….! You wont find many people who will charge less than £1 a mile. Does it have to be trailered? Is it road worthy? can you drive it there?

Fred I've got it sorted! The seller has a friend who is transporting something from Aberdeen down south on Monday, so he can deliver mine for £175!! Just confirmed it a couple of hours ago. You might see some pictures on Monday

It will need various bit of filler taking out and some metal welding in.
Looks like a lot of it has been badly sprayed so I may give it a go myself.
It was described as having a "blown engine" but I don't know if it's top or bottom end, or even just the head gasket.
I'll probably just rebuild the 1256 and then work away at the bodywork.
Could be a while before I get started.
Also mine came with a towbar too!

First things first though, I'll need to do something about the missing keys...

Two or four door ? What trim level ? Lol missing keys tell me about it. I've broke into mine although wouldn't do it my way on a car being restored, crowbar is brave and rough :goodluck: :goodluck:

It's a 2 door Deluxe. Repainted badly at some point, filler here and there, missing driver's seat etc.

Yes, Honey is still in my shed. She was pushed aside while I welded up my brother's Fiesta XR2i for him. That's all done. Ow so just need the space back.

The new HC is up at my brother's farm at the moment. May end up taking priority over Honey though as it's a much less daunting task!
