They was thinking of fitting the Lotus engine I have. But they 're now talking about tweaking the 1256 like large valve head different cam etc. And retro fitting the body shell a bit more ..

What's wrong with the body shell as it is - sounds like another good car for the chop

Hi all,

I coincidently bumped into someone who is a part of this show this weekend. Allan Weston was his name. I happened to be speaking to him about his 504 rally pickup he was showing off at BBC's Carfest, and Viva's of course sprung up into the conversation. He said they had a budget of £8k for the entire car, and were apparently going the route of modifying the engine and keeping the same dual carb setup. The car was being presented as a barn find, and the carbs were going to be 'magically found' halfway through the show. He mentioned he was giving it a new exhaust system also and blacking all the chrome. I think there was more but I can't remember. He said that Jimmy De Ville, the shows main presenter, was going to be given the car as payment for working on the show.

Have you ever seen that show? Its not good. All sorts of mistakes and glaring errors. Suspect they will ruin a good Viva.
The Mini Clubman episode recently was horrendous.
