Not exactly. If it helps You can lift a gearbox off the ground. I'm a 40s make so not a spring chicken. Engine needs two into a van. Heavy but doable. Crane for engine bay unless you are Geoff Capes.

I have some scales now so I will weigh the engine in the New Year. 2 of us did lift it into our car. I was just thinking about putting a 1256 into a Moggy as the Marina engine is hard to find. A Moggy 1098 is 111kg. There is a fellow in Oz who transferred the Torana front axle into a Moggy. I have a rebuilt 1256 and Chevette box so was just thinking at present.

If you haven't already weighed your engine and 'box, the Haynes manual says its 227 lbs and 270 lbs approx with the gearbox. Somewhere around 103kg or 123kg respectively.

Hi , Thanks for the reply, it confirms my findings. My 1256 complete weighed 111kg, same as the Moggy engine. Your reply has also given me 20kg for the gearbox. Thanks.
