Reproduction HB GT parts

Postby jamezz666 » Sun Oct 25, 2020 1:58 pm

Hello All

over the past 3/4 months i've spent my spare time and money on buying equipment and products for reproducing GT parts. All parts are cast from original parts and will have defects. All parts are cast in plastic. here is a list of parts that will be available in the following month or 2

1. GT steering wheel centre cap (£35 postage included)
2. Victor GT steering wheel centre cap (£45 postage included)
3. GT bonnet scoop trim (£60 postage included)
4. GT centre console speaker trim (in process of making the mould)
5. GT centre console switch panel (in the process of making the mould)

Non are for sale until i've completely finished and have a handful made. All prices are at cost and no profit is being made. over the past 3/4 years of owning 2 GT's, i've found that the parts are becoming impossible to find and i got fed up with trying to find parts for my own cars or spares even, so i thought i'd take it upon myself to help others out and go down this road. i'll be eventually looking for someone to supply a GT mk1 gearknob for reproducing, as i sold mine a long time ago :angrywife:
Below are some pictures of some of the parts.

Update! i've made a mould for the centre console switch panel and i've successfully made two castings. As you can see there are imperfections such as a repair mark on the lower left, where the handbrake sits but all repro's have their moulds made from parts i have and have had to repair. It took 2 and a half weeks to make the mould  and i still have other parts to make

Thank you guys. Next week i'll be selling GT steering wheel centres / Vauxhall victor steering wheel centres (for the gt style wheel) / GT centre console switch panel and possibly bonnet trims (in plastic)

It's a very slow process and with 3 project cars + everyday work too do, it's a struggle to find the time

As others have said, good work James. It's nice to see owners who are willing to invest time and effort in reproducing rare parts that would otherwise be impossible to find. I know the amount of work it takes to get items like this into production. Well done.

Just bought one of the switch panels via eBay, look forward to getting a speaker trim section also if you manage them. Great work as have been looking one of these for quite a while now.
