1256 spin on oil filters?

Postby House » Tue Jan 25, 2011 5:39 pm

Did anyone make an aftermarket adapter for the more modern spin on filters? I had a bash at turning one up today using an old filter as a pattern but getting the centre return flow right is going to be a nightmare. Even a pic of an oil cooler plate might help me here?

The return on a spin on filter is central but the return in the Viva block is off centre..

Bit long i know but i do have a few dumpy filters here i use on my Anglia that should work well.

99% certain there was a converstion, but not sure who made it. Think Dan used to have one on his old GLS.

Try Flexolite, they list the parts you want:

Be good if you could take the feed from oil filter housing for a turbo....

You can get an adapter for an oil cooler that sits between the filter and the block. Couldn't you use that?

Can vouch for the flexolite adaptors, they fit very well. No more faffing with filter housings after that.

Sometimes, I wonder why I bother, and then for one fleeting moment things will go right for a change.
