Hi Nick,

I've sent you a pm with photographs of the Firenza 2000SL. Please let me know if they're ok, because I had some difficulties with creating/uploading the images - it's the first time I've done this!

Regards,

David

Hi again
Jumping all around on my project at the moment, would like to ask a bit more about the engine.
But just to jump in I noticed my car doesn't have an anti-roll bar on the front and rear, but in some of the posts I have noticed some do,,, could anyone shine some light on that.
1. Tracking down a local company that can lighten and balance the bottom end, install new pistons and main bearings for me.
2. Looking into a big valve head for my 2.0 so if anyone has one holding their garage door open I would love to do a deal.
3. Paul is hooking me up with high lift cam, amongst other bits. Great guy.
4. Looking into a gryphon design large bore exhaust, anyone have any newer posts of one installed and some feedback after the first batch have been delivered customers. Not the test car.
5. Now the big question, which are better Weber or Dellorto and with my planned mods is two twin 45 to much, should I go to 40's and are dcoe's the best/only option. Newby to these, my history is bikes.
6. I should ask about upgraded petrol and oil pumps as well.
7. Anyone running electronic ignition systems.
Thanks
Look forward to hearing from you all.

A Gryphon exhaust fitted for some months now, and can highly recommend. Fits HC like a glove going over the gearbox cross member, not under, is tidy, good quality stainless and workmanship... And sounds gorgious.

Is expensive, but worth every penny.

In my opinion re carbs, Weber 45's would be about right if you want the performance for say the track. 40's if you are looking for a bit more fuel economy with fast road capability... The Delortos are great carbs, but very tricky to find service bits for, as I have found. (I have a set of 48's that drown the engine at low revs and when you go foot hard down, so not really practical for road use)

Sometimes, I wonder why I bother, and then for one fleeting moment things will go right for a change.

My apologies to everyone who has expressed an interest in my Firenza 2000SL, and has been waiting patiently for photos etc. Brief details are: car is complete but only suitable as a donor, 1972 K-reg and owned by me since 1976. Engine is 2000 ohc with Blydenstein Stage 1 head from Magards, also original head, auto transmission, Tandy electronic ignition, Haynes manual etc.

The Firenza has been rusting away on my driveway for several years. Tyres are flat, and brakes are seized so will be a trailer job. Logbook gone, keys mislaid but are in the house somewhere and are required because I fitted deadlocks.

When the weather gets warmer (which will be very soon?) I'll summon up the energy and get on with it.

Hello again, well I'm desparate for some bits for an engnine upgrade on my HC estate - namely the front clip (including calipers, disks, stub axles etc) and rear brake drums/backplates (I already have a 2300 axle but with no brake components). Possibly the stearing rack as well. It pains me to be an accomplice in tearing down a viva - but if you say it's only good as a donor then it sounds perfect.

I don't know if you are selling it as one pice or selling it off in bits - either way, I'm expressing a very keen interest! - to you or anyone else if they buy the complete car from you for the engine.

Anyway - I'll sit tight - feel free to contact about it. PM sent also.

Cheers.
