Updated rear springs???

Can you get stiffer rear springs for an HC Viva, my new stainless exhaust has been "modified" and "adjusted" several times now by the company that fitted it but I still get the odd bang from it hitting the suspension arms.

I am wondering if the original springs are a bit soft now and by fitting updated springs this might solve the problem???

Getting fed up taking it back to the garage every other day!!!

How about some rubber insert `spring assisters` :?:

I have already tried that, thanks.

Plenty of custom spring manufacturers out there will make exactly what you need. When you say the "original" rear springs, my guess is that being 40-odd years old will probably have softened them, so maybe even a new pair of standard-spec springs would do the job.

Yes I think they are original, I thought that springs for a Droopsnoot might be stiffer, is that not the case?

Yes, but lower as well, so might not help. But if you were getting custom springs made I'd imagine you could add the stiffness but retain the length. Not a spring expert unfortunately, I'm sure someone else will comment.

It's probably your shocks that are a bit soft. But replacing the springs or shocks won't solve the basic problem of the exhaust not fitting properly.

Yes I agree the gap between the exhaust and the suspension arm is so small that the shape of the exhaust is critical at that point, I might have to take it back again!

The pipe from the rear box in front of the axle needs to have a very tight bend and travel up vertically between the suspension arms.
