Best bet is swap for a 1256 nice upgrade on power (well a little) then look out for a stage 3 head and brabham twin carbs,
You will then be fully qualified and powerful enough to pull the skin off a rice pudding lol
But would be a good power up.
There may even be something online about converting a standard head to a stage head
Good luck
P.s there is a set of carbs on EBay at the moment about £135 if I remember correctly
Vivas seem to be highly addictive,
got an Estate
Now have a Coupe
now on the lookout for a Saloon

Cheers Viva boy !! :)I have found a 1256 engine on Facebook and its from an HC so guessing fairly straight forward swap ?.I saw those carbs yes !! I Will have a look into getting the head worked for a stage 3.Then I can overtake milkfloats lol!.Joking aside because the ole Vivas are light they accelerate quite well. Not as fast as my Pug Gti 6 I had though !.Coming off the road next week for new engine mounts etc so maybe a good time for swap over of engine. Will let you know how it goes.Cheers dude
