Today's update pretty much coming live from the shed. Engine and gearbox is in, it is slightly tilted because the hole for the gearstick to pass through hasn't been lengthened yet but that is next on the list. Mx5 radiator sits in really nicely. The subframe has to be modified to clear the sump, I did this with an old rusty subframe that came out of the hedge find viva first and it was handy enough. Engine mounts to be made now, try and mount the radiator and gearbox nicely and then we will go from there.

Thank you, I find everything seems to flow better when the momentum is kept up, unfortunately my easter holidays are finished and I'm back to work on Monday so things will slow down a bit with only nights and weekends to work on the car

Taking a look around the front windscreen the rubber is badly perished. Given this and the fact all the glass bar the windscreen is removed I am planning on removing the windscreen and getting the blaster pulled out to remove some of the surface rust.

I see East Kent Trims do a front screen rubber for the HC. I know there was a pretty extensive thread on HB screen rubbers, can anyone advise if the East Kent Trim windscreen rubber for the HC is any good?

Thanks

A bit by way of an update...

Got some of the new bits and pieces in, still sorting out small patches here and there on the bodywork and then the new floor pan needs to go on. Currently waiting on expressed steel rear arch repair sections. The subframe is now sorted for the 1800 Mazda sump and has been strengthened to make up for it.

A little more progress made this time on the rear axle. Pulled the halfshafts out and inspected the bearings then rubbed down to bare metal to remove all the flaky yellow paint. Once I have the diff checked over I'll start building the brakes up into it along with new bushes and get it under the car :)
