Rear bush from a Transit van pressed into 50mm hydraulic ram tube. The bushes also measure 50mm, interestingly the genuine ford bush pressed in very easily using a normal bench mounted vice but the aftermarket ones supplied by the local auto parts gave a little resistance and had to go in with a proper hydraulic press.

Started over Easter to try and remove the rot and weld up some patches. Keep in mind we are not professional bodyworkers, in fact I don't think we have even reached the rank of amateurs yet, we've never done anything like this on a car body, but it is satisfying to chip away at little bits and pieces yourself with the welder and some new material.

It's always satisfying to fix something - however small the step, it's a step towards the point where there's nothing left on the "to do" list.

8 years into owning my 1256 and the to do list is still there, I'm not sure everything will ever be ticked off but as you say it is very satisfying seeing progression bit by bit :D
