well.. woke up to a steaming hot day so decided to have a bit of a lay in, then after a session on the x-box with my son I decided he would be happier playing his wargames on his own so dragged the welder out the shed and set to work....
decided to get ready for the cills by getting the bulkhead/firewall area somewhere near and started by dissecting the OS bit, now the fusebox normally lives here but im moving it into the vehicle as it makes more sense to keep them in the dry.
started off as with the other side by repairing the lower lip on the front face as I still had something at the side to line it up with
then did the side part and lined it up to this
jigsaed out ready for removal
note top also cut back to sound metal
strip tacked in
BZZZ
top plate cut to shape and tacked in
and final welded
just the leading edge now
and welded in all ready for inner cill to be joined to
last job was to whack a bit of protective primer on as wont be on it for a week or so and wrap the old girl back up
will repair the front of the firewall/bulkhead when the iner cills are in as these will give me my line to go to.
thanks for checking in !!!!
