Thanks Alex, I have to agree with you there... 8)

Been busy again, just doing bits between nightshifts ( I hate nights!). Ive painted the inside of the boot and the floorpan. I think it has probably taken longer to prep and paint the inside than it will to do the outside, we shall see!!!
Ill wait for the paint to go off then ill mask up and start the prep on the outside. Im still waiting for my hubs so I cant move the car, kinda limits how much I can get on with. Still plenty to do though....

Ive taken a pic of the top arms to show what Ive done. They are made of 1" CDS tube with a polybush locating into the original mount and the other end is a rose joint to the top centre of the axle. I wanted it adjustable so I can play with diff angles. The panhard ro is made the same way. I did think about getting an escort kit, but the tower wont fit and the rod will be the wrong length so I made my own. Worked out cheaper aswell!! :D

Very clean! The colour choice is lovely- kind of similar to the colour we have painted the cab of our housetruck we are currently building(hence Viva is sad)

A fella wioth a holden Torana has just got some second hand top arms that look just like yours. Good idea and if you dont mind at some point I shall copy them....

I think a panhard rod is the way to go to- since finally driving my car in a spirited fashion on trip home I now realise why Pauls friend calls her car Lurch- I could quite easily feel the axle shifting sideways- usually springing back on corner exits.
It felt the same as when my old triumph 2500 rear halfshaft splines would lock up on corner exit under power and then release when power is backed off. The car would 'flick'

Ive been making the most of the awsome weather the last few days and got the car painted. I took most of last week off work and got the prep finished, (I swear Im never doing another car in a single garage!!!)
Got the first coat of primer on by friday, flatted it on saturday morning then painted it.
Ive spent all day today flatting off the paint and polishing it....The misses is moaning about hardly seeing me or somthing.

Not much of an update this time, been busy with other distractions!! Got the tank painted. It was a nightmare getting the gunk off, it was really thick in places...Got the hubs and discs on too. They are Mk2 escort hubs machined on the back with 2.8 Capri discs. Not sure what to do for calipers yet but Ive got a few ideas... :D
Ive started on the engine and box aswell. Made some engine mounts from 3mm plate (Ill weld these to the front cross member when the weather gets better, dont have enough room to do it in the garage.)The bottom end is built with new rings, shells oil pump and water pump. I didnt take anypics of this, Ill get some next time Im out. I put the bellhousing on my gearbox only to remember that its a 2.8 box, not a normal one which means the input shaft is longer. So out comes the grinder to make some mods!! I took about 15mm off the end and 13mm off the splines, then used a dti so make sure it wasnt too wobbly.....
