1966 BEDFORD HA BEAGLE RESTORATION

Postby logsplitterman » Sat Dec 31, 2011 4:22 pm

Hi,
Thought i would post a few photos of the progress on my Beagle restoration which has been ongoing for the past two years or so.( that could be three ) The registration number is KFM 369D which is from the Chester area. It has been resprayed inside and out in navy blue (i believe the official Vauxhall colour is Eclipse Blue which was one of the colours offered for the HA van during the 60's) There is still loads of work to do particularily on the inside trimming although the full length headling has been fitted. I have been very lucky to have befriended Steven (Bedfordbad) up in Consett who has helped with parts and loads of advice over this period and of course our own stalwart club man Adrian who has been a mine of information and a great help with parts. Note Steven the side windows are still not in, i could write a book on this one aspect of the job grrrrrrrrrrrrr :(
Cheers,
Alan.

Hello again alan... Its certainly coming along now.... Lovely colour combination!!! Can`t wait to see it in the flesh! What do you need for the inside? as the roma`s are made with the same hardboard as far as im aware... Ive just broken a roma and have some interior bits.... Will we see you and the beagle at billing next year? You could always put it on the road and do the fiddly bits later on...., Steven

Hi,
Many thanks for all your kind comments, when a project drags on for years it's not easy preventing things from getting stale and positive remarks certainly cheer you up. I have dug out a few more photos that may be of interest although they are going back further in time. Thanks for your offer of interior bits Steven i will give you a ring on that, and Peter, yes please help yourself to any photos that you may need for the register.
Cheers,
Alan.

Hi,
This is how the full length headlining looks, the trimmer stitched it up from off white perforated vinyl and fitted it, all i did was provide the pine battens for him to fix to which are bonded to the roof, these can be seen in an earlier photo. Some of the creases should go when the glass is fitted and the trim panels are fitted to the door posts and above the side windows.
Cheers,
Alan.
