Hello and welcome, HC Autos are a rare car. Ask any questions you like. Some pics and the reg number would be good. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for looking i will get some photo's soon at the moment it has everything but the kitchen sink on it but being a time served mechanic myself i'm starting to look forward to finding the time to get going the details i have on it are ,
The registration is SWE 579L the vin/chassiss frame no is 93369dom015862 on the V5 that the man from the ministry of transport came to my house (because at that time i didn't have a V5)he verified the car.it says it has a 1159 engine but i recall haynes manuals saying that all automatics were fitted with the 1256 engine.
One of the main reasons i'm looking forward to doing this car is the viva hc is the first car we owned,my then girlfriend now my wife of 31 years could drive so we bought a "J" reg 1159 2 door green viva great car for £325 in 1979.We then put "L" plates on and i passed my test learning in this car.
Can you still get parts for these exhaust brakes etc,i have kept my eyes open on ebay and see alot of parts on there only thing gives me concern is the roof lining as it is clean but if you run your'e finger down the stitching it pulls apart, engine seems locked (heads off)but quite happy to take engine out got crane and engine stand and strip down.
The car is only showing 29000 miles which from were it came from i believe to be true.Sorry to go on and on iwill leave now thanks to everyone for offer of assistance i'm in mansfield,Notts NG18.

The DVLA site has no record of the car. But for an L reg HC I would expect a 1256 engine. Might have been changed in the past. Whats the engine No?

Most parts are available, if you join the owners club they have parts in stock. Some parts are getting remade. Several people have had headlinnings made up. Body parts, and interior parts are getting rare. Wings etc are getting pricy when they do turn up.

Is there a different number on the chassis plate fitted to the top nearside of the metal part of the dashboard panel, when you look in from the windscreen on that side? My parts book doesn't really talk about the meaning of "DOM", though it does suggest that it's 1973 model year because of the 93369 designation.
