Collected garage find PPJ 177L today, full report and further pictures to come.

After a little persuasion, exit from the garage for the first time in 23 years was easily accomplished.

Outside for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century.

Nearly done!

A nice new addition to my neighbourhood.

Victory! Only when PPJ 177L was finally on my driveway did I permit myself to relax, such a great feeling!

A full account of this rescue mission and further pictures will soon follow. Right now I'm exhausted, it's been quite a day. :D

A friend of mine when I was at school - his dad had one of those - always thought they were a good looking estate.

Looking forward to more details.

Well done, a write up and a few pictures for the club mag would be good.

Well done sir!
Glad i went down there and took the pics....it looked really solid to me....surface rust only on body, and interior is, other than a bit of dust, immaculate... Another estate rescued awesome...

A few more photos of my nearly acquired HC Estate. This was a true garage find, locked up for 23 years, one owner, low mileage. Grateful thanks to Mike Stanley for posting details of this on the V.V.O.C Forum and of course Paul Cullum who carried out an initial inspection of the vehicle.

I have been after a 1256 HC Estate for quite some time, now at long last I have a fine stablemate for my HC saloon, S74 'Arthur Dent'. With 'Arthur' fully restored and running like a sewing machine, it is time for a new project, 'The White Knight'. This is a name resurrected from the HC that I used to drive over 27 years ago. :D

This is going to be very much a rolling restoration project, so hopefully it should be back on the road within a few months.

Image
'The White Knight' slumbers, hopefully not for much longer.

Static seat belts! Even the little plastic hooks that you hang them on are still in situ and intact.

This looks worse than it actually is, the vinyl is almost like new underneath.

Just look at that "finger chopper" fan blade. I may well replace this with a slightly less dangerous viscous fan assembly.
