1965 Viva HA Standard Barn Find

Postby MTV-VIVA » Tue Apr 24, 2012 8:08 pm

finally got the log book sorted so it time to post some pics up of my new car :)

It’s a 1965 viva ha standard in storm grey with a calypso red interior that’s done 43,000 miles

The car has had 2 previous owners, the last owner was based at raf bentwaters Suffolk bought the car for a cheap run around in 1988, in 1989 he took the car to a local garage where it was left because he couldn’t afford the cost of the repairs it needed.

The car has sat in the garage owners barn since 1989 and has only come up for sale because he is moving house

The car had already been dragged out the barn so unfortunately there are no pics of where it was buried for 23 years :(

I am fully paid up - still can't see anything on the link, it says access not allowed. That's happened a couple of times now - any idea why?

Nice find :)

the only other one I’ve come across is this one

it was on eBay in Australia about 6 months ago, owner said if it did not sell then it will be scrapped and it didn’t sell so its probably doesn’t exist anymore :(

The standard should not have a heater or screen washer fitted, but this car has, it was either fitted at the dealership as you could buy these items as accessories or at some point in its life someone has fitted the parts from another car

Luckily the original rubber mats are still with the car hiding in the boot, they could have so easily been thrown away!

Period leopard print seat covers :), they won't be going back on as they have rotted with the damp but the rear one is ok

Along with more than 5 empty oil containers and stop smoke/motor medic, bit concerning engine wise
