Viva standard went to its first show at ripon race course last Sunday, its first long journey which was a 130 mile round trip and it drove like a new car with no problems, it lost roughly a pint of oil as the crankshaft oil seal leaks but its not a problem, i’ll just keep topping it up, the crossply tyres make cornering interesting even at low speeds.

the 1057cc engine seems to have plenty of power and was happy to take hills in 4 gear with the boot fully loaded and two people in, it was quite happy to do 70mph but i took it easy doing 50-55. The engine is so good i think the previous owner was trying to stop the oil leak with all the oil additives rather than a worn smoking engine as i first thought

Thanks for comments :D

I use plastic disposable seat covers when driving, i bet there’s not many people use seat covers to protect the dirt on the seat

I have been meaning to post about this for quite some time.

Its great that it has been saved and I love what you have done.

Sadly I have cancelled coming over for Billing as I was looking forward to seeing this. Hopefully I acn make it over for another event some time.

I have a standard in Australia. I plan to post some photos of it on here in the next few weeks.

Cheers

Hi.. Thanks for comment :)

Please post pics of your standard, shame you couldn’t make it to billing as it would have been nice to meet another standard owner, very jealous of your brabham GT by the way
