Orange GLS freshen up

Postby MikeOC » Sat Apr 28, 2012 11:10 pm

not really a restoration as such but thought this maybe best section to post this in?? i gave the Orange GLS a bit of a freshen up this afternoon after getting back from Yorkshire from picking up the 2 door GLS i've just bought.
the wheels were decidedly grotty and rusty and spoilt the cars' appearance,so i cleaned them up and gave them a coat of paint,i also fitted some more tyres afterwards i'd got off ebay as all the tyres were of 1980s vintage dunlops and showing their age with cracks in the treads,i certainly wouldn't want to drive it on the road any distance with them on  my local friendly independent tyre fitters i use[who are open till 4pm on a saturday too-very handy] swapped 'em over for me,plus new valves and balance.
i also gave the car a good clean, and cleaned up the rubber trim and mudflaps and blacked them up,looks a lot nicer now i think :D

Got to be one of the shortest periods of ownership.... why buy it in the first place if it wasn't what you wanted? :?:
