Amazing how many little bits and bobs you need to fix it all back in one piece! I hope you put your sons g/f to work cleaning something!

How did you clean the grille. I've never been able to find a good enough way to clean mine

took it all apart (even the riveted brackets have been cleaned & painted & redone) used very mild wet scotch brite & auto-sol on the metal, and soap/water on the grills-then bumper black.
plus lots & lots of elbow grease!

The engine has now been cleaned & painted- apart from the rocker cover.
when its in the engine bay i have a new one to go with the new gaskets.

Went to see my car yesterday, expecting it to have its new coat of paint on, sadly not :(
more bits found that needed welding & the chap was too busy doing a range rover to do mine :?
Not a happy bunny. should have been picking it up friday, now he says monday....
gives me a week to put it all back together, get it mot'd & do test runs before the trip to billing.

Got the car back yesterday, very pleased with it.
went to a differnt chap to finish the job & wish i'd gone to him first,but we all learn the hard way.
anyhow, its back now so work can progress....
