Thanks. I though long and hard about the colour. Before anyone asks - silver never was on the short list!! My family refused point blank to let me paint it the original Tasmin Orange, although some might sneak in somewhere!

I had originally started to paint it white as can be seen in some of the early photos, but when I first saw a mates 09 Astra VXR in Arden Blue Pearl I said that's the colour, not realising that Vauxhall had painted Corsa B's in it from 96 on - and it looks *Bleep*! It must be the sharp defined lines of the Astra that make it stand out. I think the Firenza has enough defined edges to make it look as good as the Astra.

I think it will get a pair of fairly wide gold stripes to match the gold split rims and sort of mimic the Sport SL heritage, a 6 and a 10mm should do it.

Got the lacquer on on Saturday morning and I'm pleased with the results.

Wrong gun pressure on the bonnet so it needs blocking back and redone, but the colour looks even, and that's the main thing!

I think I'll carry on and have a go at painting the rest myself.

What pressure are you using your gun at. Need to make sure you use a good correct compatible thinners in this weather.

Any advice just ask as its what I do for a living! :goodluck:

PM sent to Graeme, thanks for the offer of advice.

Next week should see the main shell and boot lid painted. Got a few things to do this week and Billing at the weekend.

I've got a bit of fabrication to do on the doors to fit early HS / Manta B door mirrors like Silver Bullet so they will be painted when that's sorted. The front wings will be last as the carport is quite narrow and the shell needs moved over to be able to work comfortably on either side and I'm scared of damaging the front wings once they're painted.

I wheeled it out to the sunlight this morning to check for colour variations and evenness. It seems OK to me.

Couldn't resist roughly assembling one of my 10" rears to see how it looks. .
