Damn - that looks a mighty fine machine. Hope the MOT goes well.

The first MOT certificate this 42 year old car has ever had!

Thanks Paul, next target, Billing!

Well done that man. I wish I could get to Billing. I work nearly every weekend  It will be a good shakedown for it anyway. Hope you have fun.

Thanks Shaun and Paul, Great to get driving it after 35 years of ownership!

Already things need sorted, the speedo has stopped, the oil light stays on sometimes - faulty connection or switch I hope as pressure is OK, the rear axle bolts seem to have loosened off - old bolts with new nylocs - so not sure how that happened (were they ever fully tightened?), RH front wheel bearing needs adjusting, gearbox a bit sluggish - hope it wakens up OK after 35 years of slumber, alternator bearings a bit noisy, even though it was a rebuilt unit 30 years ago, a slight coolant leak around the heater hoses somewhere, and wipers self park sometimes.

The front springs are a bit high for my liking and the shocks need adjusted up a notch or 2 all round. I have a pair of lowered racing springs of unknown rate which I may try out before Billing. Failing that the Group 1 Magnum ones will remain in place until I get time to swap them.

Fitted the proper wheels last night, sorry no photos, just too busy cruising

:respekt: That does look superb.

My rear axle bolts did the same. After just a few miles it developed a clunk from the rear end when going from reverse into forward drive, and back again.

Looks amazing, well done. All bolts should be checked and retorqued if appropriate after a few miles running, maybe even twice as bushes etc settle into final postions.
